The County Business Patterns count for Carson City is a useful picture of the commercial side of a state capital: 5 warehousing and storage establishments and 8 self-storage lessors. A Carson City office moving across town or across the state line rarely has a week of downtime to spare. O'Brien's commercial crews work around that. ## What the numbers say about storage in town Businesses in Carson City that outgrow a suite, or that close one office and open another, often need somewhere to hold furniture and files for a few weeks. O'Brien's warehouse in Sparks, 33 miles away on I-580, holds office furniture and boxed files in wooden vaults, and our [commercial storage](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/full-service-storage/commercial-storage/) page explains the options. Records and files are covered on the [records moving page](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/commercial-moving/records-moving/). ## An office move done around working hours Commercial crews work evenings, weekends and holidays by arrangement, so a Carson City office can pack up on Friday afternoon and open on Monday. A move manager on site directs the crew on larger jobs, works from your floor plan and answers your office manager's questions. Read about [on-site move management](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/commercial-moving/move-management/). ## From first call to opening day - Call 775-359-6683 or request a commercial estimate. - An estimator walks both locations or reviews the floor plans. - You receive an itemized written estimate. - Staff pack their desks into numbered cartons, or the crew packs for them. - The crew moves and places furniture by floor plan. ## Planning resources The [office moving checklist](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/guides/office-moving-checklist/) sets a timeline, and the guide to [moving office IT and equipment](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/guides/office-move-it-and-equipment/) helps your IT contact. See also our main [office moving page](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/commercial-moving/office-moving/). ## What to settle at the walk-through The estimator asks a short list of questions on site: how many workstations move, whether there is a server room, which conference tables need disassembly, and whether the loading dock or elevator has a reservation window. Answers go into the itemized written estimate. Carson City buildings near the Capitol complex and the downtown streets often have limited curb space, so tell the estimator about parking and any permit the building manager requires. If a suite will be empty for a few weeks between leases, the crew can place furniture straight into storage and deliver it to the new suite when the space is ready. The same inventory that lists each desk and cabinet at pickup is the list you check at delivery. ### Sources (checked October 18, 2026) - [U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023](https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/cbp.html) - [FMCSA, Protect Your Move](https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move) ### Licensed movers U.S. DOT No. 30611 MC-109375 Nevada CPCN 1070 Cal PUC T-90973 (as published by O'Brien's) Bekins Van Lines interstate agent since 1955 [Check our USDOT record](https://safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/query.asp?searchtype=ANY&query_type=queryCarrierSnapshot&query_param=USDOT&query_string=30611) · [Ready to Move? February 20, 2026 We were referred to O'Brien's Moving and Storage though a friend in Reno. We couldn't be more pleased with the Professionalism and Service. They were quick to set up Luke to come out and give us a quote and scheduled the actual move date right away. Luke was on time for our quote as were the movers on our moving day. All three of the gentlemen who moved us were professional and courteous from start to finish. From the initial phone call to the completion of our move, we felt like we were treated as family. We would definitely use them again and recommend O'Brien's Moving and Storage to our friends in the future. ### Owner's reply Francie, Thank you for this amazing review. The result you have expressed is exactly what we all strive to accomplish. I love that you walked away knowing you are now a part of the O'Brien's family, whenever you need us we are a phone call away! I will let the movers know about the kind words expressed about them, that will be very satisfying for all of them. We will look forward to any referrals you send our way, thank you for the opportunity! M Mark S. January 22, 2026 Great company and local. They take great care of your moving needs.
