Offices here include professional suites and campus-area departments, so a plan covers records, equipment and quiet hours. Bigger project? The area has about 28,030 residents at about 4,614 feet. A university neighborhood supports a particular mix of offices: small professional firms, nonprofit groups, research and teaching departments, and the services around a campus. Academic calendars drive moves, with summer a busy window. ## A renter-leaning area with a school calendar With 71.4 percent renting, the area has a steady turnover of residents and tenants. For offices, calendars matter: a department may need to move between semesters, and a professional firm may need to move around a filing deadline. Give the estimator the earliest and latest dates you can move. The written estimate sets the schedule from those dates. Professional suites near the campus often share a building with other tenants, so ask the property manager about elevator hours, freight access and any quiet periods before you settle on a date. The estimator can fit the crew's start time around those rules. ## Departments, labs and records University-area moves often involve more than desks. A research group has lab benches and sensitive instruments, and an office has years of paper files. O'Brien's offers [laboratory moving](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/commercial-moving/lab-moving/) and [file and records moving](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/commercial-moving/records-moving/) alongside office moving. The estimator asks what each piece of equipment needs and who from your side or your vendor should be present. - Desks, chairs and shelving - Files in numbered cartons - Lab equipment, with vendor and safety staff - Computers, with your IT contact ## Ten minutes by I-80 The yard is 3.8 miles from North Reno via I-80, about 9 minutes in free-flow driving. A crew can load a floor in the evening and have the truck back at the warehouse the same night. If your office is leaving the area, the same estimate covers a move to Sparks, Carson City or farther, and the paperwork follows the destination. ## After-hours scheduling Quiet hours protect classes and clients. Commercial crews work evenings, weekends and holidays by arrangement, and a move manager keeps the day on track. See [after-hours moves](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/commercial-moving/after-hours-and-weekend-moves/) and [move management](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/commercial-moving/move-management/). ## Storage and furniture Dormitory and student-housing furniture is a separate specialty, covered on [dormitory furniture installation](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/commercial-moving/ffe/dormitories/). For an office with a gap between leases, vault storage in Sparks starts from $40 per month. February 20, 2026 We were referred to O'Brien's Moving and Storage though a friend in Reno. We couldn't be more pleased with the Professionalism and Service. They were quick to set up Luke to come out and give us a quote and scheduled the actual move date right away. Luke was on time for our quote as were the movers on our moving day. All three of the gentlemen who moved us were professional and courteous from start to finish. From the initial phone call to the completion of our move, we felt like we were treated as family. We would definitely use them again and recommend O'Brien's Moving and Storage to our friends in the future. ### Owner's reply Francie, Thank you for this amazing review. The result you have expressed is exactly what we all strive to accomplish. I love that you walked away knowing you are now a part of the O'Brien's family, whenever you need us we are a phone call away! I will let the movers know about the kind words expressed about them, that will be very satisfying for all of them. We will look forward to any referrals you send our way, thank you for the opportunity! M Mark S. January 22, 2026 Great company and local. They take great care of your moving needs.
