South Reno and Damonte Ranch is the 89521 ZIP code, about 41,900 residents in roughly 16,800 households. The median home was built in 2007, has 6 rooms and is valued at $667,700, and about 69 percent of homes are owner-occupied. Many households here moved in within the last ten years, and their furniture is still arriving. ## A neighborhood still furnishing itself Three of four homes here are less than twenty-five years old. Families who bought a new house often furnish it over the first couple of years, one room at a time. White-glove delivery supports that pattern with scheduled visits, each following the same routine of wrapping, carrying and placing. ## What newer construction changes New homes have wide hallways, two-story entries and garage-level access, and those features make big pieces easier to carry in. They also have fresh paint and flooring that deserve protection. The crew lays floor covering and pads door frames, and tells you before moving anything that might scuff a wall. ## Furniture from many sources Orders for South Reno homes arrive from showrooms, from online retailers and from relocating households who ship ahead. The warehouse in Sparks, 9.8 miles away, can receive them and hold them in [vault storage](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/full-service-storage/vault-storage/) from $40 per month. Stored goods ship with about 2 to 3 weeks notice. ## Typical South Reno deliveries - Whole-house furniture sets for newly built homes - Staging furniture arranged by a designer through the [designer logistics service](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/commercial-moving/interior-designers/) - Bedroom furniture for growing families - Office and study furniture for home workspaces ## Delivery with the paint still fresh In a house that is a few years old, the walls and floors are in their best condition, and so a delivery protects them the way it would protect the furniture. Runners cover the floor from the front door to each room, door frames are padded and the crew sets each piece down, not drags it. When a piece has to be turned in a stairwell, the crew lifts it past the wall instead of leaning against it. Ask the estimator to note any surface you are especially concerned about. It is written into the plan, and the crew sees it before the truck is unloaded. ## Next step Request the [free in-home estimate](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/free-estimate/), which includes 10 free heavy-duty boxes, or call 775-359-6683. ### Sources (checked October 18, 2026) - [U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020-2024 5-year estimates](https://www.census.gov/data/developers/data-sets/acs-5year.html) - [City of Reno official site](https://www.reno.gov/) ### Licensed movers U.S. DOT No. 30611 MC-109375 Nevada CPCN 1070 Cal PUC T-90973 (as published by O'Brien's) Bekins Van Lines interstate agent since 1955 [Check our USDOT record](https://safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/query.asp?searchtype=ANY&query_type=queryCarrierSnapshot&query_param=USDOT&query_string=30611) · [Ready to Move? August 4, 2023 Talk about organized people. I peeked in the truck about an hour into the job and was amazed at how well organized it was and how many of my things had protective coverings. Our bed is a mechanical one and a nightmare to us, but these guys had no issue with it at all. Although I have no desire to ever move again--but if I did, I would be calling these guys for sure!!! J Jennifer C. August 3, 2023 Customer service, packers, and loaders were very responsive, professional, and did an overall great job. C Christy R. March 25, 2023 All of the above!
