Spanish Springs is a community of homeowners. The Census shows 94.9 percent single-family detached homes, a median of 6.1 rooms, a median build year of 2002 and about 6,700 households. Only 7 percent of residents moved in the past year, and roughly 82 percent of householders have been in their homes since before 2020. People here tend to stay, and the senior moves that do happen are planned carefully. ## A house to sell or pass on With nearly everyone an owner, a senior move here usually involves a sale or a transfer to family. Furniture that is not needed in the new place can wait in the warehouse during showings, and [storage while you sell your home](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/full-service-storage/storage-while-selling-a-home/) explains the steps. The [handling an estate move](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/guides/estate-moves/) guide helps when the house is going to relatives. ## Plan a full day Spanish Springs is 14.7 miles from 2277 Glendale Ave, about 28 minutes along SR 445. That is the longer end of a local run, so the crew plans the day as one trip: load the house, deliver the new home and take storage pieces to the warehouse on the way back. Ask the estimator how the order of stops affects the schedule. ## Long ownership, big rooms A 6.1-room median means big living spaces, and long ownership fills them. The estimator walks the garage, any hobby room and the outdoor storage. Patio furniture is moved with the household, as described in the guide on packing outdoor furniture. Pieces that are headed for a smaller patio can go into a vault, and [vault storage](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/full-service-storage/vault-storage/) starts from $40 per month. ## Questions for the first call - Where is the new home, and when is it ready? - Which rooms does the family want packed by the crew? - What needs to be stored, and for how long? - Who from the family will be at the house on the day? ## After the move The crew can unpack, place furniture in the new home and take away the cartons if you ask for it on the estimate. The household should keep a short list of the first-week needs, from medications to chargers, in a bag that travels with the family instead of the truck. ### Sources (checked October 18, 2026) - [U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020-2024 5-year estimates](https://www.census.gov/data/developers/data-sets/acs-5year.html) - [Administration for Community Living, Eldercare Locator](https://eldercare.acl.gov/home) - [FMCSA, Protect Your Move](https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move) ### Free in-home estimate - An O'Brien's estimator walks through your home - A written, itemized estimate - 10 free heavy-duty boxes, yours to keep [How our estimates work](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/how-our-estimates-work/) ### Visit or call the office 2277 Glendale Ave, Sparks, NV 89431 [775-359-6683](tel:+17753596683) | Monday to Friday | 8:00 am to 5:00 pm | | --- | --- | | Saturday and Sunday | Closed | [Get my free estimate](#estimate) ### Related - [Senior moves and downsizing help](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/senior-moving/) - [Handling an estate move](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/guides/estate-moves/) - [Movers in Spanish Springs](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/spanish-springs/) - [Storage while you sell your home](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/full-service-storage/storage-while-selling-a-home/) Nearby ## The same service in nearby towns - [Senior moves and downsizing in Sun Valley](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/sun-valley/senior-moving/) - [Senior moves and downsizing in Lemmon Valley](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/lemmon-valley/senior-moving/) - [Senior moves and downsizing in Golden Valley](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/golden-valley/senior-moving/) - [Senior moves and downsizing in Cold Springs](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/cold-springs/senior-moving/) - [Senior moves and downsizing in Verdi](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/verdi/senior-moving/) - [Senior moves and downsizing in Washoe Valley](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/washoe-valley/senior-moving/) - [Movers in Spanish Springs](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/spanish-springs/) In Spanish Springs ## More services in Spanish Springs - [Packing services in Spanish Springs](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/spanish-springs/packing/) - [Storage for Spanish Springs households](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/spanish-springs/storage/) - [Long-distance moving from Spanish Springs](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/spanish-springs/long-distance/) Answers ## Senior moves and downsizing in Spanish Springs questions Still have a question?
