Verdi is a small community: 1,012 residents, 527 households and 89.2 percent of homes owned. The median home was built in 1986, 81.8 percent are single-family detached and the median has 5.4 rooms. Only 0.6 percent of residents moved in the past year, so a senior move in Verdi is one of the few moves on the street. ## Few moves, so many details When a community moves rarely, a move needs plans nobody has written down yet. Where does the truck stop? Who has the key? How wide is the lane? The estimator checks each of these during the free visit and writes the answers on the estimate, so the crew arrives with the right equipment and a clear idea of the site. ## Homes with a lot of ground Verdi homes are mostly houses with yards, and a yard holds tools, a shed, patio furniture and sometimes a trailer. Put the outdoor items on the [home inventory builder](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/tools/inventory-builder/), and the estimator will count them. Outdoor furniture is covered in the guide on packing patio furniture. ## I-80 to the warehouse The warehouse is 12.7 miles from Verdi, an 18-minute drive using I-80 and SR 425. That is close enough for a morning load and an afternoon delivery. Vault storage starts from $40 per month, and about 2 to 3 weeks notice ships stored goods back. ## Getting the paperwork done A move means mail, utilities and accounts need a new address. The [change-of-address checklist](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/guides/change-of-address-checklist/) lists what to update, and the Postal Service's Mover's Guide handles the forwarding. Doing this a week before the move keeps the first week quiet. ## Booking a small-community move A smaller community means fewer neighbors and fewer questions about parking, and also fewer other moves going on. Call the office on a weekday, give the address and the approximate size of the home, and the estimator will set a visit. A phone ballpark is also available before the in-home estimate if you want an early idea. ### Sources (checked October 18, 2026) - [U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020-2024 5-year estimates](https://www.census.gov/data/developers/data-sets/acs-5year.html) - [Administration for Community Living, Eldercare Locator](https://eldercare.acl.gov/home) - [USPS, Mover's Guide](https://moversguide.usps.com/) ### Free in-home estimate - An O'Brien's estimator walks through your home - A written, itemized estimate - 10 free heavy-duty boxes, yours to keep [How our estimates work](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/how-our-estimates-work/) ### Visit or call the office 2277 Glendale Ave, Sparks, NV 89431 [775-359-6683](tel:+17753596683) | Monday to Friday | 8:00 am to 5:00 pm | | --- | --- | | Saturday and Sunday | Closed | [Get my free estimate](#estimate) ### Related - [Senior moves and downsizing help](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/senior-moving/) - [Change-of-address checklist](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/guides/change-of-address-checklist/) - [Movers in Verdi](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/verdi/) - [Downsizing for seniors](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/guides/downsizing-for-seniors/) Nearby ## The same service in nearby towns - [Senior moves and downsizing in Washoe Valley](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/washoe-valley/senior-moving/) - [Senior moves and downsizing in Reno](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/reno/senior-moving/) - [Senior moves and downsizing in Sparks](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/sparks/senior-moving/) - [Senior moves and downsizing in Downtown and Midtown Reno (89501)](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/downtown-midtown-reno/senior-moving/) - [Senior moves and downsizing in Old Southwest Reno (89509)](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/old-southwest-reno/senior-moving/) - [Senior moves and downsizing in Caughlin Ranch (89519)](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/caughlin-ranch/senior-moving/) - [Movers in Verdi](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/verdi/) In Verdi ## More services in Verdi - [Packing services in Verdi](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/verdi/packing/) - [Storage for Verdi households](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/areas/verdi/storage/) Answers ## Senior moves and downsizing in Verdi questions Still have a question?
