When they do, the O'Brien's warehouse is 12.7 miles away in Sparks, and vault storage starts at $40 per month. or call [775-359-6683](tel:+17753596683) [4.3 on Google · 71 reviews](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/reviews/) Family owned since 1941 [U.S. DOT No. 30611](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/about/licenses-and-authority/) ## Verdi: Movers and renters - Drive to our vault warehouse 13 mi, about 18 min - Households renting 10.8% - Moved in the past year 0.6% - Seasonal or second homes 0% Data: [U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020-2024 5-year estimates](https://www.census.gov/data/developers/data-sets/acs-5year.html); [OSRM routing on OpenStreetMap data, free-flow drive from 2277 Glendale Ave, Sparks](https://project-osrm.org/). Verdi sits at the Nevada edge of the Truckee River canyon, with about 1,000 residents in 527 households. The Census puts the median home at around 1986 and its value near $661,000, and 89 percent of homes are owned. A town this small and settled has a different relationship to moving than the cities downstream: residents stay for decades, and a move is a rare, deliberate project. ## Slow turnover in Verdi At 0.6 percent, Verdi's mover rate is very low. That means very few homes change hands in a year, and when one does, the buyer and seller both have time to plan. Storage fits that pace: a few weeks for staging, a few months for a purchase or a remodel. Households in a town this size benefit from a crew that comes to the door and takes care of the whole haul. ## From the canyon to Glendale Ave The Census point is 12.7 miles and about 18 minutes from the warehouse at 2277 Glendale Ave. The crew picks up at the door, wraps and loads, and stacks closed wooden vaults of 7 ft x 7 ft x 5 ft by forklift in a 30,000 sq ft building. Each vault is listed on an inventory so the household can say exactly where an item is. ## Why Verdi owners store - Preparing a long-held home for sale - Moving to a smaller place or into care - A remodel on a property with limited extra space - A relocation out of the state with a later delivery date ## Getting started Read [long-term storage tips](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/guides/long-term-storage-tips/) if the stay may be long, and [storage while you sell](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/full-service-storage/storage-while-selling-a-home/) if you are listing. The [free in-home estimate](https://obriensmoving-storage.com/free-estimate/) includes 10 free heavy-duty boxes. Stored goods ship with about 2 to 3 weeks notice. ## Neighbors and access Some Verdi addresses sit on narrow lanes. The estimator checks the approach during the visit, including where the truck can park and how far the crew will carry. Quiet planning ahead of the day keeps the load moving and the neighbors undisturbed. ## Delivery back to Verdi or elsewhere When the stay ends, the vaults go back on a truck to wherever you choose: the same Verdi address, a new home in the valley or another state through the Bekins network. Say so at the estimate and the delivery plan is written in from the start. ### Sources (checked October 18, 2026) - [U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020-2024 5-year estimates](https://www.census.gov/data/developers/data-sets/acs-5year.html) - [eCFR, 49 CFR Part 375, Transportation of Household Goods in Interstate Commerce](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-49/subtitle-B/chapter-III/subchapter-B/part-375) ### Vault storage in Sparks Wooden vaults, 7 ft x 7 ft x 5 ft each, in our 30,000 sq ft warehouse. We couldn't be more pleased with the Professionalism and Service. They were quick to set up Luke to come out and give us a quote and scheduled the actual move date right away.
