Anyone who does move there will find rules unlike anything in the West. ## Sixty days for title, registration and license Delaware's Division of Motor Vehicles says new residents must title and register their vehicles within 60 days after becoming a Delaware resident, and that a person moving from another state must apply for a Delaware driver's license within 60 days. The same new-resident form covers both. Delaware charges a document fee when you title a car there, so ask the DMV for the amount before you go. Bring your Nevada title, proof of insurance and two proofs of address. ## No sales tax, but a gross receipts tax The Division of Revenue says Delaware imposes no state or local sales tax. Sellers pay a gross receipts tax instead, which is built into business costs. That changes a shopping budget more than a paycheck. The state income tax reaches 6.6 percent at its top bracket, a rate in effect since tax year 2014. Nevada has no state personal income tax, so a Delaware salary is taxed in a way a Nevada one was not. ## A small state with a high median home value Delaware's ACS median home value is 352,000 dollars, its median gross rent is 1,401 dollars a month and its median household income is 84,954 dollars.
