The 2026 driver's manual says to apply for an Idaho license within 30 days of residing in Idaho. Older fact sheets show 90 days, so use 30. Counties handle titles; the ITD handles licenses. ## Taxes: flat 5.3 percent The Idaho State Tax Commission's 2025 schedule applies a flat 5.3 percent above the first few thousand dollars of income. A one-year increase was introduced in the 2026 legislature but no 2026 rate was published when this page was checked. The sales tax is 6 percent, and some resort cities add local option taxes. Nevada has no state personal income tax, so Idaho wages will be taxed. That contrast is the largest financial change on an Idaho move. ## A heavy two-way trade About 573 people a year left Washoe County for Idaho in the five-year county data, and about 200 came from Idaho to Washoe. Idaho's median home value is 418,600 dollars and its median gross rent is 1,238 dollars a month, with a median household income of 77,800 dollars.
