Those rules apply to people moving in. When you move out, the work is ending your Arkansas ties: turn in plates when the Nevada registration is done, change your insurer and voter registration, and keep a copy of your Arkansas vehicle title for the Nevada DMV. Arkansas personal property tax on vehicles is assessed by county, so ask your county assessor how your final year is handled. ## The tax picture: 3.7 percent versus nothing Arkansas lowered its top individual income tax rate to 3.7 percent effective January 1, 2026, and its state sales tax is 6.5 percent with local additions. Nevada collects no personal income tax from wages. That means a smaller gap for you than for movers leaving high-tax states, and a good reason to compare the two states line by line rather than by headline rate.
