Michigan property tax on a home and the summer and winter bills split by township, so ask the treasurer how a mid-year sale is handled. ## Flat 4.25 percent Michigan's individual income tax is a flat 4.25 percent for the 2026 tax year, and the state sales tax is 6 percent. Several Michigan cities, including Detroit, also levy a city income tax. Nevada does not tax wages at the state or city level. A part-year Michigan return is typical in the year you leave. Wages are not taxed at the state level.
