These apply to arrivals. Leaving, cancel Mississippi registration after Nevada's, and ask your county tax collector about ad valorem tax on the car. Nevada uses one 30-day clock for both, so a single trip to the DMV covers it. ## A falling income tax Mississippi's income tax is a single rate on income above $10,000: 4.4 percent in 2025, 4 percent in 2026 and scheduled to be 3.75 percent in 2027. The state sales tax is 7 percent. Nevada collects no state personal income tax on wages.
