Heating fuel varies, and winter bills at this altitude can be significant, so request twelve months of bills. ## Douglas County School District, with a Tahoe campus Douglas County School District lists Zephyr Cove Elementary School and George Whittell High School among its schools, so the Nevada side of the lake has its own campuses. Bring birth certificates, immunization records and proof of address. ## County offices and the DMV Douglas County's Recorder and Assessor are at the Historic Courthouse, 1616 Eighth Street, Minden, open weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The closest Nevada DMV metropolitan office is Carson City, 555 Wright Way, by appointment. Nevada gives new residents 30 days for a license and registration, and out-of-state insurance is not accepted.
