A restaurant opening depends on a long chain of deliveries: ranges and hoods, walk-in parts, tables, booths, bar stools, smallwares and signs. Each comes from a different supplier on a different date, and the building schedule can shift under all of them. Having a warehouse that can take the freight in and hold it is how many owners and project managers keep the schedule from falling apart.

A Sparks restaurant project, in a customer's words

A Google reviewer described this kind of job: “We used O'Brien's to store and deliver restaurant equipment in Sparks, NV. They did a fantastic job.” (Trey M.) That is the service in one sentence: freight comes to O'Brien's, waits, and goes out when the restaurant is ready for it.

What moves in a restaurant job

Kitchen equipment is heavy and awkward. Dining-room furniture is bulky and easy to scuff. Bar fixtures and decor are fragile. A single plan has to handle all three, in a sequence that puts the heavy kitchen pieces in before finish work and the soft goods in last.

Tell the estimator what is on the order, which pieces come crated, and which are used items moving from an old location. Used equipment from a restaurant that is relocating is a normal part of the work.

  • Cooking lines, prep tables and refrigeration
  • Booths, tables, chairs and bar stools
  • Bar fixtures, shelving and decor
  • Smallwares, signs and display pieces

Timing and the building schedule

Restaurant buildouts change daily. Because crews work evenings, weekends and holidays by arrangement, deliveries can wait for the inspector, the flooring crew or the electrician without losing a week. The estimator sets a delivery window with you in writing, and your project manager keeps the final say on when the site is ready.

How the estimate works

Phone the office on a weekday between 8 am and 5 pm. The estimator reviews the equipment list, the number of pieces and the building access, then gives you an itemized plan. Moving an existing restaurant to a new address works the same way, with the pickup side added to the plan.

See the FF&E overview for how receiving and installation work, or hotel FF&E if your restaurant is inside a property.

Commercial crews work evenings, weekends and holidays by arrangement.

What should I have ready for the estimate?

What customers say about O'Brien's

Francie H.

We were referred to O'Brien's Moving and Storage though a friend in Reno. We couldn't be more pleased with the Professionalism and Service. They were quick to set up Luke to come out and give us a quote and scheduled the actual move date right away. Luke was on time for our quote as were the movers on our moving day. All three of the gentlemen who moved us were professional and courteous from start to finish. From the initial phone call to the completion of our move, we felt like we were treated as family. We would definitely use them again and recommend O'Brien's Moving and Storage to our friends in the future.

Both movers were courteous, efficient and very carful with my furniture. Also, talking with Janet over the phone was a pleasure.
