Data (read 2026-10-19): OSRM routing on OpenStreetMap data, free-flow drive from 2277 Glendale Ave, Sparks; U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020-2024 5-year estimates; NOAA NCEI U.S. Climate Normals 1991-2020; U.S. Census Bureau, State-to-State Migration Flows (ACS 1-year 2024); U.S. Census Bureau, ACS county-to-county migration flows 2016-2020.

Census counts put the flow from Mesa County to Washoe County at about 170 people a year (2016-2020), against about 14 moving the other way, a strong lean toward Reno for a small Western Slope metro. Colorado as a whole sent about 3,886 people to Nevada in 2024.

The drive: I-70, US 6, I-15 and I-80

The truck runs I-70 west for about 57 miles into Utah, then US 6 for about 169 miles across the Utah desert and over to the Wasatch Front. It follows I-15 for about 49 miles north and then I-80 for about 514 miles across the Bonneville Salt Flats and Nevada to Sparks. The total is about 796 miles.

Unlike the Denver and Colorado Springs routes, this one never enters Wyoming, so the exposed section of I-80 over the Continental Divide is avoided. The weather concern is US 6 across eastern Utah in winter, and the Wasatch Front stretch has more traffic than the desert. Utah DOT covers both, and the Nevada 511 site covers the last miles.

At 500 miles a day the map says two days behind the wheel, with a free-flow time of 13 h 36 min. Your written estimate sets the delivery window.
