Hartford to Reno is about 2,793 miles and nearly 49 hours of driving, with 2,538 of those miles on I-80. The planning figure is six driving days at 500 miles a day.
Hartford is at 33 feet and the Sparks warehouse is at 4,437. The map line is about 2,443 miles and the road adds about 350. The Connecticut end of the trip is short links, and nearly everything after that is I-80.
I-84 and I-81, then 2,538 miles of I-80
The route uses I-84 for about 187 miles, I-81 for 35 miles and I-280 for 14 miles, and then I-80 carries the trip for 2,538 miles. That is 91 percent of the total.
Each state publishes a 511 page. Connecticut has its own road-conditions site, and NDOT covers Nevada.

Wheel time is about 49 hours, which the planning rule rounds to six days at 500 miles a day. A shipment moves on the carrier network's schedule, and the delivery window in your written estimate is the date to plan around.

How a long-distance move works with a Bekins agent
O'Brien's Moving & Storage has been an agent for Bekins Van Lines since 1955. On an interstate move the Bekins network carries your shipment under the van line's interstate system; O'Brien's books the move in either direction. Leaving Northern Nevada, we give the free in-home estimate, pack, store in our Sparks warehouse if you need it, and load. Moving here from another state, you book with us and we coordinate the move from your origin through the Bekins network, then handle delivery, unpacking and storage in Sparks. Your written estimate sets the delivery window. What being a Bekins agent means.

Talk about organized people. I peeked in the truck about an hour into the job and was amazed at how well organized it was and how many of my things had protective coverings. Our bed is a mechanical one and a nightmare to us, but these guys had no issue with it at all. Although I have no desire to ever move again--but if I did, I would be calling these guys for sure!!!
