The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation tells new residents to apply for a Pennsylvania title and registration within 20 days of moving to the state, and to obtain a Pennsylvania driver's license within 60 days if they hold a valid license from another state. Commercial license holders get a shorter 30 days.

The state sales and use tax is 6 percent, with an extra 1 percent in Allegheny County and 2 percent in Philadelphia. Nevada's statewide minimum is 6.85 percent, so the difference depends on where in Pennsylvania you settle.
