Denver is a long high-country move. The drive crosses Nevada, Utah and Wyoming on I-80 before turning south on I-25, and the destination is cold in January and dry all year. The paperwork has its own order: the license comes before the registration.
Colorado's 30-day and 90-day rules
The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles says that after establishing residency you must transfer your driver license within 30 days and title and register your vehicle within 90 days. Residency is established by the earliest of owning or operating a Colorado business, gaining Colorado employment, or living there 90 consecutive days.

Colorado taxes
The Colorado Department of Revenue's 2025 income tax booklet lists a flat 4.4 percent rate, and its sales tax guide states a 2.9 percent state sales tax, with cities, counties and special districts adding more. Denver's total rate is therefore higher than the state number. Nevada collects no individual income tax and its statewide minimum sales tax is 6.85 percent.
A mile up: winter and dry air
NOAA's normals for the Denver station show a January high of 46.5 and a low of 17.6, a July high of 90.2 and a low of 59.3, 15.36 inches of precipitation and 49.0 inches of snow a year. Cold nights are the pattern in January.

Talk about organized people. I peeked in the truck about an hour into the job and was amazed at how well organized it was and how many of my things had protective coverings. Our bed is a mechanical one and a nightmare to us, but these guys had no issue with it at all. Although I have no desire to ever move again--but if I did, I would be calling these guys for sure!!!
