Valuation coverage: released value vs full value protection
On an interstate move, federal rules make Full Value Protection the default level of mover liability. You can choose the lower released value, 60 cents per pound per article, only by waiving full value in writing.
Valuation is not insurance; it is the level of the mover's liability for your goods. Your estimator explains the options before you sign anything.
Full Value Protection
Under Full Value Protection the mover is liable for the replacement value of lost or damaged goods, up to the declared value of the shipment, and may repair, replace or settle in cash. It is the default on interstate household goods moves.

Released value
Released value is the minimum level of liability and comes at no extra charge. It limits the mover's liability to 60 cents per pound per article, so a 10-pound item is covered for 6 dollars no matter what it is worth. You get released value only if you waive Full Value Protection in writing.
High-value items
Items worth more than one hundred dollars per pound, such as jewelry, silver or some art, must be listed on the shipping documents to be covered at full value. Tell your estimator about them.
If something is damaged
Note any damage on the inventory at delivery before you sign. On an interstate move you have 9 months from delivery to file a written claim; the mover must acknowledge it within 30 days and respond within 120 days. Moves within Nevada follow the Nevada tariff.
The two employees showed up on time and were very polite and ready to work. Our quote was 8 hours and they finished in 5 hours. Office staff checked in prior to move and confirmed all details and check in after move to make sure everything was taken care of. Would use this company again for sure!
