After-hours and weekend commercial moves

For most businesses, a weekday move means lost revenue. A medical office cannot close on Tuesday, a store cannot take down shelves during sales hours, and an office manager would rather not tell staff to work in boxes. Off-hours moving solves that, and it needs planning from both sides.

How the schedule is built

Our regular office hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, but commercial crews work outside those hours when the job needs it. The estimator asks when your staff leaves, when the building is open and when systems must be running again, then builds a timeline around those answers.

Off-hours work is also quieter for your customers and staff. Lobbies are clear, elevators are free of foot traffic, and the crew can work in a continuous run rather than stopping for meetings and phone calls. A written plan lists start and finish times for each area, so your contact knows when a department will be back online.

Typical off-hours patterns

Common patterns include a Friday evening pack-out with a Saturday move and a Sunday set-up, an overnight move for a retail floor, or a holiday weekend for a school or clinic. Each uses the same crew, a written floor plan and a move manager. See on-site move management.

What you do ahead of time
