Delaware is a very small destination by flow: the Census 2024 estimate shows no measurable movement between Nevada and Delaware, and its 2023 estimate counted about 118 people going from Nevada to Delaware. Anyone who does move there will find rules unlike anything in the West.
Delaware's Division of Motor Vehicles says new residents must title and register their vehicles within 60 days after becoming a Delaware resident, and that a person moving from another state must apply for a Delaware driver's license within 60 days. The same new-resident form covers both.
Delaware charges a document fee when you title a car there, so ask the DMV for the amount before you go. Bring your Nevada title, proof of insurance and two proofs of address.
The Division of Revenue says Delaware imposes no state or local sales tax. Sellers pay a gross receipts tax instead, which is built into business costs. That changes a shopping budget more than a paycheck.
