Moving from Honolulu to Reno

Census estimates show people moving in both directions between Honolulu County and Washoe County, and the state-level counts show Hawaii sending Nevada a few thousand movers a year.

The route: two ends and a crossing, with no road in between

The straight-line distance from Honolulu to Reno is about 2,567 miles, and the whole way is over open ocean. There are no highways, driving days or mountain passes in this move, so the numbers that matter are the two ends and the plan for the crossing.
