Golden Valley is a small north-valley neighborhood within a short drive of Sparks, and the numbers above describe a settled owner community of larger lots and single-family houses at about 5,138 feet. The short distance means a Golden Valley move can usually be a same-day job.
About 85 percent of Golden Valley homes are single-family detached, the median home was built in 1980 and the median home value is around $499,000. Median age is near 62, and household income is about $93,000. That profile fits houses with garages, sheds and years of accumulated belongings.
With 419 households, Golden Valley is a small community, and the estimate process is the same as anywhere else, with an easy drive and flexible scheduling.
The route covers 8.6 miles, with 6 miles on I-580, and takes about 14 minutes. That is short enough that crews often start the day at the Sparks yard, load in Golden Valley and unload into a vault at the warehouse the same afternoon. The Golden Valley storage page explains vault options from $40 per month.
Golden Valley sits above the Truckee Meadows floor. Snow arrives earlier and lingers on side roads, and some unpaved lanes soften in thaw. Tell the estimator about your road surface and slope. If a storm hits, the office moves the date; see moving in winter in the Sierra.
Short moves fail on small details: a gate code, a narrow lane or a neighbor's parked trailer. Tell the estimator about each one. With the warehouse only minutes away, the crew can bring extra pads and a second load of boxes if the day runs long. A same-day vault delivery works well when the new place is not ready. For a household with a lot of garage contents, the garage packing guide is a good first read.

8.6 miles and about 14 minutes, mostly on I-580.
Yes. O'Brien's loads and unloads rental trucks, trailers and PODS.
Often yes. Because the warehouse is close, a crew can load at your home and place goods in a vault the same afternoon.
