Golden Valley is one of the smallest communities in the Truckee Meadows, with a household count in the hundreds and a median age near 62. The elevation is about 5,100 feet, and the Census estimates show a median of 5.5 rooms and a median year built of 1980. It is about 9 miles and 14 minutes from our yard in Sparks, by way of I-580.

With so few households, each pack in Golden Valley is close to its own case. Of the roughly 470 homes in the Census count, about 350 have three bedrooms and about 90 have four, and almost none are small apartments. A house here usually comes with a garage, a yard and sometimes an outbuilding, and the estimate covers each one on its own line.
Half the homes date to before 1980
About 50 percent of homes pre-date 1980. Older homes often contain the household's whole history: tools, furniture and keepsakes accumulated over decades. We pack the fragile items by hand and wrap furniture in pads, and we label cartons by room so the unpack goes quickly at the new place.

The two employees showed up on time and were very polite and ready to work. Our quote was 8 hours and they finished in 5 hours. Office staff checked in prior to move and confirmed all details and check in after move to make sure everything was taken care of. Would use this company again for sure!

Talk about organized people. I peeked in the truck about an hour into the job and was amazed at how well organized it was and how many of my things had protective coverings. Our bed is a mechanical one and a nightmare to us, but these guys had no issue with it at all. Although I have no desire to ever move again--but if I did, I would be calling these guys for sure!!!
