Employee and corporate relocation in Reno and Sparks
O'Brien's moves transferred and newly hired employees into and out of Reno and Sparks, with an in-home estimate for each household and storage in our 30,000 sq ft warehouse. The estimate includes 10 free heavy-duty boxes for the employee.
Northern Nevada employers hire people from across the country, and relocation is often what decides whether the person accepts. HR teams need a mover that communicates, handles packing and delivery, and does not leave the employee guessing. O'Brien's works with HR staff and relocation managers on both sides of the move.

What employers ask for
Employers usually need three things: a clear estimate, a reliable schedule, and a clear record of what the move includes. The estimator provides an itemized estimate for each household and the office coordinates dates. Employers set the policy for what they cover, and the written estimate matches it.
Arriving in Reno or Sparks
For people moving to the area, O'Brien's handles the Reno end of a Bekins move: destination services, storage in Sparks and delivery. A new hire whose house is not ready can have belongings held in the warehouse. See moving to Reno for guides on taxes, driver's licenses, schools and utilities that employees ask HR about.
Leaving the area
An employee transferred out of Reno gets an in-home estimate from an O'Brien's estimator, and the household moves long distance or internationally through our partners. See long-distance moving and international moving for how those moves work.

Taxes and policies
Tax treatment of employer-paid moving costs depends on current law and on the employee's situation, so HR and payroll advisers should confirm it. IRS Publication 521 describes the moving expense rules, and our guide to moving expenses and taxes points to the official sources.
Keep the employee informed too. A short note on what the move includes, who to call and when the estimator will visit prevents the questions that otherwise land on HR. The estimator also leaves 10 free heavy-duty boxes at the first visit, so packing can begin early.
Starting a relocation account
Call 775-359-6683 on a weekday between 8 am and 5 pm and ask for an estimator. Tell us how many employees you expect to move, what the policy covers and who will be the contact. The moving for a new job guide is something HR can share with transferees.
